Paul E. Sweeny, 94 of Holiday, FL, died on December 25, 2018 at his home. Born in Upland, PA, Paul was predeceased by his first wife of 31 years, Catherine Taylor Sweeny; his parents, two brothers and a sister. He moved to Illinois with his family in 1970. Paul worked for BP Chemicals as a Chemical Technician in Plastics, retiring in 1988 and moving to Holiday, FL. He was faithful servant of His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ since 1944 at Norfolk, VA. Paul was active in the various churches he attended, including the Choir, Sunday School and as a part of the Lawn Crew. During WWII, he served as a Communication Expert in the US Navy on the Mine Sweeper USS Pheasant (AM61) at the invasion of Normandy. Paul in survived by his wife of 31 years, Ruth Q. Sweeny; his children, Nancy Stetter (Walter), Paul C. Sweeny (Ellen), Jean Adams (William), David Sweeny (Laura) and Robert Sweeny (Sandi); 14 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
